CEAL regularly facilitates targeted learning for students and providers to develop new competencies. Please view the course offerings below or contact ceal@wakehealth.edu for further information.
The Center for Experiential and Applied Learning’s Program for Medical Ultrasound teaches the art and science of ultrasound to physicians, sonographers, and other health professionals, since our institution helped develop the innovation of teaching ultrasound, in 1975. Each course is enhanced with hands-on scanning sessions to reinforce the lectures and to help our participants develop a strong and consistent scanning technique. Instructional scanning sessions include both patients and volunteers as subjects.

The Maintenance of Certification in Anesthesiology (MOCA®) program has been designed and developed to help physicians demonstrate their commitment to quality clinical outcomes, and patient safety. MOCA® offers certified anesthesiologists an opportunity to improve their personal effectiveness while advancing the standard of specialty medical care.
The Center for Experiential and Applied Learning (CEAL) offers K-12 educator resources in the form of videos, mini-modules, and downloadable worksheets to provide a virtual learning experience that is similar to the in-person CodeMed and Summer Immersion programs.
When K-12 students visit CEAL in person, we typically have a theme and stations across our functional areas (simulation, anatomy, ultrasound) based on that theme. The most popular topic overall with K-12 educators has traditionally had to do with cardiovascular health. Our team has outdone itself in transferring a hands-on learner experience at CEAL to an online format.
For more information or to gain access to our virtual experiential learning opportunity in cardiovascular health (housed in Canvas), please e-mail ceal@wakehealth.edu
