Leading by Example: Wake PA Focuses on Community through Service

“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others” – Mahatma Ghandi

Volunteering and community service runs deep within the Department of PA Studies. This aligns closely with the Wake Forest Baptist Health Medical Center’s core value of service, described as “cultivating selfless contribution for the greater good.” The institution’s mission, vision and values are anchored in helping those in our local community, state and nation. Many faculty and staff give generously of their time and resources to organizations and programs such as medical mission trips, animal rescues, community gardens, mobile clinics and food banks, among other endeavors. Staff and faculty have been able to have a far greater reach working together for even more individuals in need.

“Never worry about numbers. Help one person at a time, and always start with the person nearest you.” - Mother Teresa
