Applicants for the one month or three months International Dermatology Fellowship programs must:
- Be non-U.S. medical school graduates trained in a dermatology residency or who have recently completed a residency in dermatology and are interested in expanding their knowledge in clinical dermatology and clinical dermatological research and applying this knowledge in their countries. Our ideal candidate is a dermatologist from an academic institution who will return to work in academics in their country of origin.
- Be proficient in both verbal and written English.
Applicants are responsible for securing all necessary visas and documentation, medical insurance and expenses regarding traveling and housing in Winston-Salem, either before or at the commencement of the fellowship.
All applicants must currently reside outside the United States. Wake Forest University School of Medicine requires all international fellows to obtain either a U.S. B-1 (tourist visa) or visa waiver business status (dependent on your country of citizenship).
Our next available position is to start in October 2024. The International Fellowship review committee evaluate all the applications and will select one fellow to start in this time frame.

Applicants must provide the following documentation:
- Curriculum vitae
- Completed application with current photograph
- Certified Copy of Medical School Diploma
- Proof of English proficiency in both verbal and written
- Copy of Passport and Visa
- Proof of Immunization
- Proof of Personal Health Insurance
- Complete Web-Based HIPAA Certification
- Copy of medical license (from your country)
- Three letters of recommendation to be addressed to the program director
- Personal statement or letter of interest explaining career choice and goals
- Certification of completion of dermatology residency
- All documentation must be translated into the English language and certified.
