About Me

My research focuses on the on vascular and metabolic contributions to brain abnormalities commonly seen in aging, Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. I hold leadership roles in several large NIH-funded cohort studies and in the Wake Forest Alzheimer’s Disease Center. As a team scientist, I work closely with neuropsychologists, MR physicists, neuroradiologiests and a diverse group of investigators on these projects. My overarching research goal is to identify modifiable risk factors and treatment strategies for the prevention of age-related dementia and cognitive dysfunction in ethnically diverse populations.
