Welcome to the Neurology Residency Program at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. We are excited that you are considering joining our vibrant and supportive community, dedicated to fostering growth, innovation, and compassion in neurologic care. Our program offers a robust and flexible training experience tailored to your individual goals.
We believe in a well-rounded approach to learning, with a curriculum designed to provide a balance of inpatient and outpatient exposure. Our residents work with a complex and diverse group of patients, gaining the skills required for any career path—be it academic medicine, community practice, research, or subspecialty training.
What truly sets our program apart is our people. You’ll collaborate with expert faculty who are both supportive mentors and accomplished clinicians. We foster camaraderie and teamwork, encouraging a sense of community that extends beyond the work environment. Our residents are not only dedicated professionals but also a fun, energetic group who support one another and enjoy social activities together.
Educational excellence is at our core, with robust didactics, interactive learning, and opportunities for research and teaching. We provide early independence and graduated autonomy, building your confidence as a clinician and ensuring you’re well-prepared for your future career. Our residents get early neurology exposure in the PGY1 year and access to diverse electives PGY2-4 years, enabling you to experience the wide spectrum of neurology and preparing you for fellowship opportunities, should that be your chosen path.
