Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is a comprehensive stroke center with three full-time NES faculty (two dual-trained neurosurgeons/neurointerventionalists and a neurointerventional radiologist), a dedicated cerebrovascular surgeon and a dual-appointed neuroanesthesiologist as part of a 12-member neurosurgical faculty.
Why Wake Forest?
We work closely with 10 stroke neurologists and six neurocritical care faculty to serve a 21-center Telestroke network, treating more than 800 stroke patients annually. We have two neurointerventional biplanar rooms and a dedicated 20-bed neurointensive care unit. We perform more than 450 interventions a year that cover all aspects of neuroendovascular surgery, as well as perform an additional 450 diagnostic angiograms.
All fellows must have met the NES prerequisite training requirements delineated by CAST.
