Thank you for your interest in the Wake Forest Anesthesiology Critical Care Medicine (ACCM) Fellowship. Our mission is to provide a high-quality program in Anesthesiology Critical Care Medicine which facilitates exposure to a diverse population of high acuity critically ill patients in multiple care settings. We are committed to producing competent, safe, collaborative anesthesiology intensivists within a supportive learning and working environment to improve the health of our community, advance the field of medicine, and produce future educators, leaders, and innovators.
The fellowship received initial accreditation by the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) in 2025 and fulfills all requirements for board certification in critical care medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA).
The Anesthesiology Critical Care Fellowship program at Wake Forest University School of Medicine is one or two years in duration, depending upon prior training. We participate in the San Francisco Match. The central application process and its requirements can be found here. We accept applicants from anesthesiology, emergency medicine, OBGYN, and general surgery (PGY3). We will also accept applicants for dual fellowship training and can facilitate the Match Exemption process for these trainees.
In alignment with multiple organizations including the Organization of Program Directors Association (OPDA) and Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) and to ensure a uniform interview process for all applicants, our fellowship interviews are held virtually.
