Department of Ophthalmology

At the Department of Ophthalmology at the Wake Forest School of Medicine, we’re training the next generation of specialists in eye care. Our department offers a robust resident training program in comprehensive ophthalmology in addition to fellowships in cornea and external disease, retina-vitreous disease, and oculofacial plastic and orbital surgery.

The Eye Center provides ophthalmology services, optical services and LASIK surgery using state-of-the-art technology combined with best-in-class patient care. We’re one of the fastest growing eye centers in the U.S., with more than 120,000 patient visits annually.
