Application Requirements

Applicants must: (i) be a US citizen or permanent resident, and (ii) have a major adviser who is a TOTP faculty. For PhD students, successful completion of preliminary examination is preferable but not mandatory. Clinical fellows who participate in the TOTP are also required to do full-time research for two years.

Required Documents

Application package should include the following documents in a single PDF file.

Postdoc fellow

  1. Application form (1 page)
    • Name of applicant
    • Start date of postdoc
    • Name of your major adviser
    • Your long-term career plan
    • Plan to apply for F32 or K99 or similar (i.e. DoD, foundation, etc.)
  2. Brief description of your current project and future plan (1 page)
  3. Full CV of applicant
  4. Unofficial transcript (or copy) of your graduate school (self-made list is also acceptable)
  5. PDF copy of up to two representative papers or drafts of pre-publication manuscripts.
  6. A letter from the major adviser (1 page).
    • The letter should include the information of applicant about the project, accomplishments, progress toward publication and any award received.

Clinical fellow

  1. Application form (1 page)
    • Name of applicant
    • Starting date of your fellowship
    • Your long-term career plan
    • Brief description of your research experiences
  2. Full CV of applicant
  3. PDF copy of up to two representative papers or draft of pre-publication manuscripts (if any)

PhD candidate

  1. Application form (1 page)
    • Name of applicant
    • Starting date of your graduate study
    • Name of your major adviser
    • Your long-term career plan 
    • Plan to apply for F31 fellowship or similar (i.e. DoD, foundation, etc.)
  2. Brief description of your current project and future plan (1 page)
  3. Full CV of applicant
  4. Unofficial transcript (or copy) of your graduate schools (self-made list is also acceptable)
  5. PDF copy of up to two representative papers or pre-publication manuscripts drafts (if any)
  6. A letter from the major adviser (1 page).
