Members of Wake Forest University School of Medicine’s neurosurgery residency program recently won the third annual Cushing Bowl, hosted by the Neurosurgery Research & Education Foundation (NREF).

The annual event, held during the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) Annual Scientific Meeting, brings residency programs from around the country together to fundraise, build community and encourage friendly competition. This year’s Cushing Bowl raised over $41,000 to further NREF’s mission of advancing neurosurgical research and education.

The NREF was created in 1980 by the AANS. The NREF supports basic science and clinical research, as well as life-long education, to foster improved outcomes for our patients with neurosurgical diseases.
