I am an engineer studying the integration of computational modeling and non-invasive imaging methodologies to explore the biophysics of cancer. Studies in my laboratory focus on the multi-disciplinary study of the multi-scale influences of cancer progression and response to therapy. We develop and validate imaging-driven biophysical mathematical modeling approaches that quantitatively parameterize cancer growth and therapy response properties based on observational imaging measurement data (MRI and optical microscopy). We employ a hybrid experimental/computational approach towards imaging, modeling, and parameterization, with projects that span the length scale of cancer from preclinical in vitro cancer cell and in vivo cancer model systems to translational clinical-based investigations.
