About Me
My research is focused on the heart-brain axis and its association with cognitive performance, decline, and brain abnormalities during aging. I am an investigator in several large NIH-sponsored cohort studies including the Multi-Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis (MESA) and the Atherosclerosis Risk in Communities (ARIC) study, and actively collaborate with the Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center. My overarching research goal is to identify risk factors and treatment strategies targeting the autonomic nervous and cardiovascular systems for the prevention of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.
Interests: Vascular contributions to Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, cognitive function, autonomic nervous system, neuroepidemiology, cardiovascular epidemiology, clinical research.
