Eligibility Requirements
- Have completed (or are on track to complete) an ACGME-accredited graduate educational program in the discipline of general surgery
- Be board-eligible or certified by the American Board of Surgery
- Be eligible for obtaining a medical license in the state of North Carolina
- US citizen or non-citizen eligible for/with planned H-1B Visa during their fellowship
Application Process
Applicants interested in pursuing Advanced GI-MIS/Bariatric/Foregut Fellowship are required to apply through The Fellowship Council website. Applications open on or around December 1st and close mid-February.

- USMLE Step I, II, and III scores
- Curriculum vitae
- Exchange Commission of Foreign Medical Graduates certification (if applicable)
- Personal statement or letter of interest explaining career choice and goals
- Three letters of recommendation, one of which should be from the applicant's residency program director. Letters of recommendation should be on letterhead and signed
