Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship Application Process

The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Wake Forest School of Medicine is an opportunity for psychiatry students to gain valuable hands-on clinical experience. Fellows use multimodal techniques to evaluate and treat children and adolescents, while also working closely with professionals and students in other related disciplines.

General psychiatry residents anticipating successful completion of the PGY III year may apply for child and adolescent training at the PGY IV level.

Application Process

Applicants interested in pursing the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship program are required to apply through the Electronic Fellowship Application Service (ERAS) with the documents listed below.

Deadline
The fellowship program is not accepting applications for the 2024-2025 academic year. 

Submitting an Application

  1. Complete your application through ERAS
  2. Register with the NRMP

Required Documents

As part of the SAFAS process, prospective fellows will need to submit the following documentation:

  • USMLE Step I, II and III scores and/or COMLEX-USA 1, 2 and 3 scores
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Medical School Transcript
  • Exchange Commission of Foreign Medical Graduates certification (if applicable)
  • Personal statement or letter of interest explaining career choice and goals
  • Three letters of recommendation, one of which should be from the applicant's residency program director. Letter of recommendations should be on letterhead and signed
  • Current photograph
