As the field of pediatric research is incredibly broad, spanning prenatal care to adolescent health, genetics to community-engagement, disease-focused treatment to public health. Because of that, we partner with nearly every department on the Winston-Salem and Charlotte campuses of Wake Forest University School of Medicine, as well as nationally and internationally, to achieve these goals.
The Department of Pediatrics at Wake Forest University School of Medicine has active research in the following areas, with total external funding in 2023 of nearly $16 million:
