Dr. Freischlag was joined by Terry Hales Jr, MBA, Executive Vice Chief Academic Officer, Senior Vice President, Academic Administration and Operations; Angela Sharkey, MD, FAAP, Senior Associate Dean, Undergraduate Medical Education, Professor of Pediatrics; and Kristie Foley, PhD, Interim Senior Associate Dean of Research, Chair, Implementation Science, Professor, Implementation Science and Social Sciences and Health Policy. Panelists discussed Innovation Quarter in downtown Winston-Salem and how it’s the prototype of innovation district development around the world. Charlotte will emulate IQ, with a new innovation district, The Pearl, which will house the second location for Wake Forest University School of Medicine, life-sciences research and development as well as new businesses and urban housing. Dr. Freischlag unveiled the new Wake Forest University School of Medicine logo and answered thoughtful questions from attending alumni and guests.
