Education is an important part of the mission of the Department of Urology at Wake Forest School of Medicine. From offering lectures in the community to training medical students and residents, we’re committed to sharing our expertise and furthering knowledge about urology.
With specialists in both adult and pediatric urology, our physicians are experienced in treating the complete range of urologic conditions and diseases, from stones and sexual dysfunction to prostate cancer, incontinence and infertility.
Our faculty members are active researchers with the goal of identifying the new treatments of tomorrow. Examples of current research projects include:
- 3D-printed urologic tissue
- Biomarkers for interstitial cystitis/painful bladder syndrome
- Prostate cancer research
- Engineering testicular tissue and organoids
- Early fertility preservation for Klinefelter Syndrome
- Non-surgical treatment for accidental bowel leakage for women
