Our department provides a comprehensive academic atmosphere for practice, education and research with a strong identity in a large academic health center.

We remain integrally involved in all four years of the medical school experience, with our third-year clerkship rated amongst the highest of the clinical rotations. The American Association of Medical Colleges (AAMC) survey has recognized both our third-year clerkship and community practice experience in the top 1 percent in the nation. The residency program continues to accent our efforts with over 300 applicants competing for our 10 internship positions.

Fellowship programs in Sports Medicine and Geriatrics further enhance our academic climate. Our research endeavors continually rank us highly of Family Medicine departments for National Institute of Health (NIH) funding.
