The Wake Forest Preclinical Imaging and Irradiation Facility (PRIMIR) is a newly completed, state-of-the-art, energy-efficient research building designed to expand and accelerate NIH-funded translational science at Wake Forest University School of Medicine.
This facility is located on the 200-acre Clarkson Campus and provides integrated, purpose-built space for advanced imaging, irradiation, and experimental research.
Major instrumentation includes:
- Positron Emission Tomography / Computed Tomography (PET/CT) scanner
- 3 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) system with nonhuman primate–specific head coil
- Six megavolt (MV) Linear Accelerator (LINAC)
PRIMIR enhances the research capacity of ongoing national and institutional programs and strengthens Wake Forest’s position as a leader in nonhuman primate biomedical research.
