The Visiting Scholars Program (VSP) provides shoulder-to-shoulder research collaborations and training with Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine (WFIRM) scientists in the field of regenerative medicine with state-of-the-art tools, technology and approaches to address real-world clinical needs. This approach contributes to the richness of the experience and provides valuable contributions to advancing both the field and the intellectual life of the visiting scholar, the scientists and WFIRM as a whole.
The program’s objectives include:
- Exposing national and international scientists, clinicians and physician-scientists (ranging from MS, PhD, MD and postdoctoral fellows to established senior investigators) to multidisciplinary research projects that address real-world clinical needs.
- Developing the ability to interact with other disciplines by providing training in a strong team-based environment.
- Encouraging and developing the next generation of regenerative medicine global scientists and clinicians to explore the potential applications of regenerative medicine.
- Developing and establishing an innovative model for international collaborative research and education and strengthening regenerative medicine research and training relationships internationally.
- Engendering new knowledge and discoveries and promoting development of a globally-engaged regenerative medicine workforce.

Conferences and Didactics
Visiting scholars are welcome to participate fully in the intellectual life of WFIRM. They will participate in a variety of didactic activities and attend regenerative medicine seminars to learn more about the different areas of the field. View faculty and areas of research expertise.
