Male infertility expert Hooman Sadri Ardekani, M.D., Ph.D., assistant professor at the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine and Department of Urology, has earned a Research Scholar award sponsored by the American Urological Association (AUA) Leadership Program.
Sadri was selected from among 70 nominees by the Urology Care Foundation and the AUA Office of Research for the prestigious award for his work in translational research to preserve fertility in patients with Klinefelter Syndrome, a genetic condition that occurs in men who have an extra X and/or Y chromosome.
The AUA promotes the highest standards of urological clinical care through education, research and the formulation of health care policy. The Research Scholar Program provides salary support for one- and two-year mentored training for early career investigators like Sadri who are in the first five years after beginning a faculty position.
