Dr. Metin Gurcan to be Inducted as American College of Medical Informatics Fellow

Metin Gurcan, PhD, Senior Associate Dean for Artificial Intelligence and Director of the Center for Artificial Intelligence Research at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, will be inducted as a new Fellow of the American College of Medical Informatics (ACMI) on November 10 at a ceremonial dinner during the 2024 American Medical Informatics Association (AMAI) Annual Symposium.

New fellows are elected annually by active members of ACMI, and it has become extremely competitive to be elected as a member. As an internationally recognized researcher and educator in the fields of medical image analysis, artificial intelligence, and biomedical informatics, Gurcan is a deserving candidate for this honor.

For Gurcan, this honor is not just a personal achievement but a reflection of the collective efforts of collaborators from around the world and trainees in his lab, along with the support of colleagues at the School of Medicine.
