Several Atrium Health locations, including Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center and Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center’s Comprehensive Stroke Center, received several awards as part of the American Heart Association’s Get With the Guidelines program. Awards included the Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award, Stroke Elite Plus Honor Roll, Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll and Stroke Advanced Therapy Honor Roll award. These recognitions honor the highest quality of care provided to patients by using research-based guidelines for treatment.

Get With The Guidelines is a proven in-hospital approach to improving patient outcomes across cardiovascular and stroke focus areas. Each Get With The Guidelines program promotes consistent adherence to the latest research-driven guidelines and measurement, while providing data and information to professionals for continual improvement in patient care.
Program participants apply for the award by demonstrating how their organization has committed to providing quality care for stroke patients. In addition, participants also provide education to patients to help them manage their health and rehabilitation once at home.
