About Me
I am an associate professor of biochemistry at Wake Forest University School of Medicine.
I’m interested in the pathogenic pathway of degenerative retinal diseases, such as age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and diabetic retinopathy (DR).
Subretinal fibrosis is a prominent pathological feature of neovascular AMD (nAMD). It’s responsible for permanent vision loss and remains untreatable. My team studies the underlying mechanism for subretinal fibrosis in nAMD and its association with Wnt signaling. We also study an interaction between PPARɑ and cGAS-STING signaling in DR.
