Dr. Lambird is an assistant professor of hematology and oncology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine.
He is board certified in internal medicine, hematology and oncology. He has a special interest in blood and marrow transplantation, chemotherapy and cellular therapies for patients with multiple myeloma and other blood cancers, such as acute leukemias and myelodysplastic syndrome. Procedures he performs include consolidation therapy with autologous stem cell transplants and allogeneic stem cell transplants.
In his clinical practice, Dr. Lambird offers patients options for treatment from an evolving field of standard of care therapies and opportunities to participate in clinical trial therapies.
Dr. Lambird’s research interests include the development of novel conditioning regimens for allogeneic stem cell transplant and the reduction of relapse after stem cell transplant for myeloid diseases. He has received an American Cancer Society Institutional Research Grant Pilot Project Award and an Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Comprehensive Cancer Care Clinical Trial Boot Camp Funding Award.
Additionally, he was named a Research Fellow of the Year and held positions on the Cancer Center Scientific Review and Monitoring and Peer Education committees at the University of Florida.
Dr. Lambird completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Missouri. He received his medical degree and a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) at Wake Forest University. Dr. Lambird completed residency and a fellowship in hematology-oncology at the University of Florida.
