I have training and expertise in epidemiological methods. I was drawn to the field of public health because of its convergence of multiple disciplines. My research focuses on the epidemiology and prevention of cardiovascular disease, dementia, diabetes, and health disparities. I believe that diversity of thought, life experience, and skill-set produce stronger and equitable science and I work to create this assemblage in my collaborations and I advocate for diversity of representation in positions of leadership. I am committed to training the next generation of clinical and population health scientists in my role as faculty in our Master’s Program, Clinical and Translational Science Institute educational programs, and through mentorship on studies and research projects.
