Athletic Training Fellowship Application Process

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the Athletic Training Fellowship program, the applicant must meet these requirements:

Education

  • Minimum: An undergraduate or graduate degree is required from an accredited Athletic Training Education Program
    • Preferred: Master’s Degree in a healthcare-related field 

Required Licenses/Certifications

  • Minimum: 
    • Certified Athletic Trainer with current BOC certification
    • North Carolina Board Athletic Training Examiners Athletic Training Licensure or eligibility for Athletic Training Licensure in North Carolina
    • Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation

Application Process

We accept applications from December 1 to February 15. Applications submitted after February 15 will not be considered. Virtual interviews are scheduled for early March. Accepted candidates will be notified in April, with a start date set for July 1.

    • Cover Letter – In your letter, please express your interest in this educational opportunity, emphasize what makes you a strong candidate for our athletic training fellowship, and describe how you plan to leverage this experience to advance your career.
    • Resume – please include your education, relevant experience and skills, volunteer experiences (if applicable) and any certifications and licenses
    • Three (3) Letters of Recommendation – While we prefer that recommendation letters be submitted along with the application materials in separate sealed envelopes, we will also accept them separately from application materials, provided the applicant's name is clearly indicated on the envelope and they are received by the deadline.
