Director, Neuroscience Research Center

The Wake Forest University School of Medicine (WFUSM) is seeking a transformational leader and nationally renowned translational investigator to join our vibrant, collaborative neuroscience community as Director of a new Neuroscience Research Center that promotes world-class research, education, and community engagement.

The Neuroscience Research Center will be an overarching administrative structure bringing different components of interdisciplinary neuroscience research together across multiple entities and areas, including clinical, (I.E., NEUROLOGY, NEUROSURGERY, PHYSICAL AND REHABILITATION MEDICINE, PSYCHIATRY) preclinical, basic science, community, and population health research. It will support neuroscience education at the undergraduate, graduate, medical and post-graduate levels, and will connect to the communities we serve with outreach and educational activities. The Center will partner with entrepreneurs and experts in public policy and philanthropy to facilitate community engagement. The new Director will develop specific goals and milestones for creating the Center, recruit research-intensive faculty with a range of complementary experience and expertise, and integrate current and developing research programs within the Center.

With the guidance of a visionary Director, the Neuroscience Research Center will support and expand neuroscience research across all of the Atrium Health/Wake Forest Baptist and WFUSM campuses, thereby enhancing academic reputation, increasing extramural funding and clinical trials, accelerating the creation and application of innovations that improve health, and inspiring and developing the next generation of researchers, leaders and innovators.
