I was trained in measurement and statistics and obtained my PhD in statistics from Stanford University. My expertise is in biostatistics and data science. My statistics-related research areas include longitudinal data, latent variable models, psychometrics and measurement of health. Application areas include aging, obesity and pediatrics, and I have led multiple NIH- and NSF-funded methodology projects and published more than 180 peer-reviewed journal articles with more than 50 as lead author.
I have been associate editor for multiple journals, including Quality of Life Research and Journal of Educational and Behavioral Statistics, and I currently am the editor of the "Application Review and Case Study" section of the journal Psychometrika.
