Wake Forest University School of Medicine has once again been recognized by U.S. News & World Report for its academic medicine programs. The 2022 edition of Best Graduate Schools ranked the School of Medicine #48 in research, up from #52 last year.
The School of Medicine was also ranked in a number of other categories. In addition, the School of Medicine’s PA program remains ranked #7 in the country and the Nurse Anesthesia program remains #10 in the country, according to U.S. News & World Report. These rankings were announced in 2019 and are still in effect.
“We are so pleased to see our innovative research and world-class educational programs receive this recognition,” said Julie Ann Freischlag, MD, CEO of Wake Forest Baptist Health, dean of Wake Forest University School of Medicine, and chief academic officer of Atrium Health. “As we move forward with the proposed second campus of the School of Medicine, pending approval by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, we look forward to welcoming an increasingly diverse student body and helping fill the gap of health care professionals serving in rural areas and communities with shortages of health care providers.”
