About Me
I am board certified in general pediatrics and pediatric critical care medicine. In addition to my faculty appointment with the Department of Anesthesiology at Wake Forest School of Medicine, I am also appointed in the Department of Pediatrics and am an affiliate of the Office of Global Health. I direct the Malignant Hyperthermia Diagnostic Lab, one of only 2 civilian testing centers in the U.S., and a resource that offers the gold standard Caffeine Halothane Contracture Test.
In addition to clinical leadership, I am a faculty member of the Critical Illness and Injury Recovery Research Center, a multidisciplinary group aiming to advance critical care research in our region. I am a board member of the Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Institutional Review Board and have leadership roles within the creative community of the Society of Critical Care Medicine and the Pediatric Acute Lung Injury and Sepsis Investigators- Post-PICU subgroup.
I aim to advance the field of pediatric critical care with research on the long-term, post-hospital outcomes after pediatric critical illness and how to better understand and optimize a child's recovery trajectory. This work has led to fruitful collaborations with dozens of researchers domestically and internationally
