About Me
I am a board certified general surgeon, fellowship trained in colorectal surgery. I completed my residency at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA, and fellowship at NYU in New York, NY. I have training in minimally invasive techniques and robotics, as well as in complex inflammatory bowel disease surgery.
I became a colorectal surgeon because, in this field, we are empowered to impact the course of a wide variety of disease processes, from cancer to Crohn’s disease. I take great personal satisfaction in the completion of curative procedures, and the application of innovative techniques. The opportunities to alleviate suffering in the patients I have the privilege of taking care of are profound.
I grew up in the Carolinas and am very happy to have the opportunity of returning to join the team at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist in giving back to the Carolina community. Wake Forest Baptist is a great institution filled with incredible people who work together to change what’s possible in medicine and surgery. At Wake Forest Baptist, collaborative care with a team of specialists in different fields from medicine to radiology allows us to achieve optimal results for each patient using state-of-the-art treatments.
