About Me
I am originally from Georgia and received my Bachelor of Science from Berry College. After completing medical school at Mercer University School of Medicine, I moved to Winston-Salem to complete my training at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Internal Medicine. After residency, I was selected to be a chief resident and provided medical education for medical students and internal medicine residents at Wake Forest University School of Medicine as an Instructor. I went on to pursue Fellowship in Endocrinology at Wake Forest Baptist. I currently serve as the Medical Director of the Diabetes & Endocrinology Center and have a particular interest in caring for patients who deal with diabetes and thyroid disorders. I am ECNU certified and perform my own thyroid ultrasound and thyroid biopsy procedures. I participate in research on use of diabetes technology. One of our goals at our Diabetes & Endocrinology Center is to match the right technology with the right patient as diabetes technology has become a rapidly expanding field. I am very passionate about medical education and enjoy teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
