About Me
I am an assistant professor of implementation science at Wake Forest University School of Medicine.
With more than a decade of inpatient nursing experience, my research is directly informed by my firsthand knowledge of the complexities in the nursing work environment that challenge nurses’ ability to practice.
I am a nursing health services researcher who focuses on understanding and improving health care delivery. My areas of research include the professional well-being of nurses, workplace violence, models of care delivery and incident reporting in hospitals.
I am a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, the American Nurses Association and AcademyHealth.
I received my bachelor’s degree in nursing at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. I received my master’s degree and doctoral degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
