About Me
I am a hematopathologist with expertise in diagnosis of hematologic malignancy, flow cytometry, and molecular diagnostics related to blood cancers. I am the coauthor of over 350 peer-reviewed manuscripts and the author of a textbook in Hematopathology, now in it's 3rd edition. My research interests include predictive and prognostic biomarkers, preclinical therapeutic target validation, and correlative science studies related to clinical trials. I have served on national committees for organizations such as the College of American Pathologists, American Society for Clinical Pathology, ALLIANCE for Clinical Trials in Oncology, the American Society for Hematology, and the Society for Hematopathology. I have served on scientific advisory boards/panels for organizations such as the Lymphoma Research Foundation.
I received my MD at the University of Michigan, where I also completed my residency in combined anatomic and clinical pathology as well was fellowships in surgical pathology and hematopathology. I served as Section Head of Hematopathology and Chair of the Department of Clinical Pathology at Cleveland Clinic before joining Wake Forest as the Chair of the Department of Pathology and Service Line Leader for Pathology and Laboratory Medicine for Atrium Health.
