About Me

I migrated from the beautiful country of Philippines. I received my Bachelor's in Nursing from Saint Louis University (Philippines), a Masters in Nursing Science and Doctor of Philosophy from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and completed a nurse anesthesia residency at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. I have 18 years of nurse anesthesia practice from being an independent CRNA practice in a critical access hospital to anesthesia care team at Wake Forest Baptist Health Institution. I joined the Wake Forest University School of Medicine Nurse Anesthesia Program in 2013. Since joining the School of Medicine, I served as an Associate Director and Interim Program Director and Interim Chair of Academic Nursing.

I am passionate about educating and mentoring the future nurse anesthesia practitioners, developing continuing education programs, promoting interprofessional collaborations, using simulation and distance learning, and cultivating a conducive environment to work and learn. Outside of work, my lovely wife, Leila, our children, Camille and Kyle, and four small dogs bring joy and inspiration to my life. I love long distance road cycling, woodworking, and landscape and macro photography.
