About Me
I was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska (go Cornhuskers!) and later moved to Kentucky where I received my Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from Northern Kentucky University and was inducted into the Beta Beta Beta Biological Honor Society. Daily visits with my grandmother in the hospital during her 3-month battle with metastatic cancer are what inspired me to pursue a career as a physician. I attended Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM), during which time I developed a passion for Transplant surgery. After graduating from IUSM, I completed a General Surgery Residency at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio.
I am now a Transplant surgery fellow at Wake Forest Medical Center and consider it an honor and privilege to participate in all aspects of transplant patient care. My specific interests within Transplant surgery include kidney and pancreas transplantation, utilization of robotic surgery in Transplant, xenotransplantation, and organ procurement techniques.
