About Me
I earned my Bachelor and Master of Science in Nursing degrees from UNC-Chapel Hill and my Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Duke University. Throughout my 30 years in healthcare, I have worked in a variety of settings from Labor & Delivery, nursing operations, systems-level quality improvement, and executive leadership. I am certified in Inpatient OB Nursing (RNC-OB), Board-Certified as a Nurse Executive (NEA-BC), professional in healthcare quality (CPHQ), and a Fellow for the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN). I bring those lived experiences to academia where I serve as an Assistant Professor for Wake Forest University School of Medicine, Department of Academic Nursing, Post-Masters Doctor of Nursing Practice Program. My particular academic interests are in areas of women’s health, quality improvement, and mentorship of healthcare professionals.
