About Me
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at Wake Forest University School of Medicine.
My research focuses on community-engaged approaches to preventing injury and improving occupational safety and health for youth and adults who work in precarious job sectors. Using mixed methods, I have worked on collaborative research that has documented the health, safety, and educational experiences of Latino youth farmworkers in North Carolina. This work has had notable uptake among media outlets, community coalitions, and legislators.
I am currently co-leading a community-engaged partnership award investigating the health and safety priorities of construction industry supervisors and workers. In addition, I am collaborating on research examining the relationship between stress, health, and multi-generational immigrant experiences, and developing and testing an intervention to incorporate youth voice into substance use prevention.
