Date of Next CCANE: July 15, 2025

Registration Cost: $300

The Department of Academic Nursing offers the Critical Care and Anesthesia Nursing Exploration (CCANE) event for Registered Nurses interested in advanced practice nursing as a nurse anesthetist. This focused educational experience integrates critical care principles with nurse anesthesia practice fundamentals.

Faculty will share information on nurse anesthesia admission requirements, guidance on the application process including interview preparation tips, and the breadth of options for your post-graduate career as a nurse anesthetist. Current nurse anesthesia doctoral students will share their experiences within the nurse anesthesia specialty program, and answer questions about the transition from critical care to doctoral studies.

Participants will have the opportunity to become familiar with equipment used to safely secure a patient’s airway, practice airway management skills with immediate instructor feedback, and engage anesthesia crisis simulation scenarios. All these activities will support your current practice as an RN in the intensive care unit and provide a window into the daily activities as a nurse anesthetist.

Space is limited to allow for individual attention and meaningful interaction with faculty and students. We look forward to having you join us at this event!
