Congratulations, MD Class of 2026!
Match Day is one of the most momentous days in a medical student's journey to becoming a doctor. Match Day is a long-time tradition that is followed by medical schools across the country, where students simultaneously open their envelopes. Each year on the third Friday in March, fourth-year medical students across the country wait in anticipation for the clock to strike noon. They excitedly open envelopes with their names to learn where they "matched" for the next three to seven years of residency training.
Our medical students opened their envelopes at noon on March 20, 2026, at the Benton Convention Center in downtown Winston-Salem and celebrated with family, friends and School of Medicine faculty and teammates. The majority of the Class of 2026 entered medical school in July 2022.
The Class of 2026 has demonstrated the academic excellence and clinical dedication that define our institution with 96.40% of our students matching in 23 different specialties across the country.
The strength of our "One School, Two Campuses" vision and our partnership with Advocate Health is clear in this year's results. We’re excited to have 31 students continue their residency training within our Advocate Health footprint.
