The following information pertains to Hooding and Commencement activities for the degree programs at Wake Forest University School of Medicine.  

2026 Commencement and Hooding Events

Graduation and hooding ceremonies are time-honored traditions that symbolize each student's academic success and mark the start of a new chapter as practicing clinicians. We wish them all the best and look forward to welcoming our new learners this summer!

Photos and videos of the 2026 Commencement and Hooding events will be shared in the weeks following the ceremonies. Livestreams of the events will be posted on commencement.wfu.edu at the time of the ceremony and linked for later viewing. 

PA Studies (MMS/DMSc)

On Friday, May 15, 2026, at 6 p.m., the candidates for the degrees of Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) and Master of Medical Science (MMS), at Wait Chapel on the Wake Forest Reynolda Campus. The ceremony will include remarks from faculty and leadership, reading of graduate names, and the presentation of academic hoods. 

Biomedical Graduate Programs (MS/PhD)

On Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 4 p.m., the candidates for the degrees of Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy from the Biomedical Graduate Programs, at Wait Chapel on the Wake Forest Reynolda campus. The ceremony will include remarks from faculty and leadership, and reading of the graduates' names.

Doctor of Medicine (MD)

On Sunday, May 17, 2026, at 3 p.m., the candidates for the degree of Doctor of Medicine, at Wait Chapel on the Wake Forest Reynolda Campus. The ceremony will include an address from key leadership, a guest speaker, administration of the professional oath and reading of names to recognize the achievement of each student.
