Our ultimate goal in what we do by having that athletic training outreach program and working with the athletic trainers at the sports medicine department at Wake Forest University is so that we can take care of the athletes so we're providing them the high level of care that both professional and college athletes get at a high school level.

Honestly, getting to work with Wake Forest University and using the facilities here and the immersive training between the physicians, the athletic trainers at the university, and Atrium Health is a big community effort and shows everybody likes working together as a team.

I love this event because annually we get to come in here, I get a great refresher on how to save a life and I go into my season, since I start my season in two weeks, confident on the emergency saving procedures since I just had a refresher on it.

This event was fantastic for me. I actually just started working at the high school level and high school is a lot different when it comes to your resources and the events you work and things of that sort, so this is very beneficial to me. There's a lot of things that I'm not used to doing that the North Carolina High School Athletic Association requires, so this is just really good to help freshen my mind up.

From C-spine and Narcan and things like that, as times change, just being at the forefront of that is something that Atrium and Wake Forest Baptist have been fantastic about, and that stood out to me was they're addressing topics that are constantly changing and knowing that times are going to change and being there for them is of utmost importance.
