The prenatal vitamin pilot study seeks to understand how providers discuss healthy eating and prenatal vitamin use with their pregnant patients. We also survey patients to understand their eating habits and how they use dietary supplements in pregnancy. Our goal is to identify gaps in intake and ways to support providers, patients, and pharmacists in promoting good nutrition during pregnancy.
We invite providers across Advocate Health to complete surveys about how they talk with patients about eating and vitamins, and how they handle prenatal vitamin prescriptions. Eligible providers are physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and clinical learners (residents and fellows). Study team members contact eligible individuals through our institutional networks and offer information about participation to those interested.
We invite patients across Advocate Health who are <20 weeks pregnant to complete surveys about the foods, beverages, and dietary supplements they consume during pregnancy. Study team members contact individuals who may be eligible based on medical record data, and offer information about the study to those who are interested in participating.
