Previous educational background? Did you play sports, cool clubs, etc. I attended the University of Virginia and was in the I.M.P. Society.

Why did you choose to come to Wake Forest University School of Medicine? Wake Forest University School of Medicine has an incredible reputation for creating very personable physicians, a credit to the hands-on teaching style.

What is your favorite thing about medical school? My favorite aspect about medical school are the volunteer opportunities and extracurricular training sessions that provide us a space to practice the techniques we study in class. It helps me to remember the end goal of medical school and is a window into my eventual impact as a physician for my future patient populations.

Share something unique about yourself! I was born on my mother's birthday (therefore I am the best gift she has/will ever receive). I have been in a Vogue campaign.

Previous educational background? Did you play sports, cool clubs, etc. I went to undergraduate at University of South Carolina, love pilates, running, and have a therapy dog golden retriever named Salem

Why did you choose to come to Wake Forest University School of Medicine? I chose Wake Forest because of what they stand for both professionally and personally. I see how they support and are a huge part of the community, and how they want to improve access to care and the quality-of-care patients receive. It was an organization I had to be a part of.

What is your favorite thing about medical school? I am in the CRNA program in the school of medicine and my favorite part is the campus and spending time with my classmates who have become like family.

Share something unique about yourself! I have traveled to 10 countries. I have completed one medical mission trip and plan to complete one through the school as an SRNA resident!

Graduation Year: 2026

Where are you from? Cairo, Egypt

Previous educational background? Did you play sports, cool clubs, etc. I completed high school at 15 years old and obtained my first master’s degree in Science and Oriental Medicine by the age of 20. I played volleyball and basketball growing up.

Why did you choose to come to Wake Forest University School of Medicine? When applying to PA school, I got into both Duke and Wake Forest. I had planned to attend Duke University, but Wake Forest offered me a partial scholarship as well as the opportunity to take part in their "Emerging Leaders Program," where I could hold my spot in PA school and matriculate with the following class. This allowed me to spend one year in business school at Wake Forest School of Business obtaining a Master’s in Management. This, combined with Wake PA’s unique IBL curriculum, ultimately led me to choose Wake Forest.

What is your favorite thing about medical school? In May of 2024, I graduated with my Master’s in Management from the School of Business and began PA school as part of the Class of 2026 a few weeks later. While at the School of Business, I was part of the Student Engagement Committee.

Share something unique about yourself! A fun fact about me is that I am a signed model. I have done campaigns for large brands that ended up in the window at Sephora or on huge billboards in Ulta! I recently landed my first magazine cover! Another fun fact about me is that I speak Arabic fluently, and I am a very good cook. I love making food for everyone and anyone, although it has been difficult to do so with my medical school schedule.

Where are you from? Asheville, NC

Previous educational background? Did you play sports, cool clubs, etc.  I went to Washington University in St. Louis for undergrad, and I was heavily involved with peer tutoring and peer mentorship through the First Year Center and the chemistry department.

Why did you choose to come to Wake Forest University School of Medicine?  The culture at WFUSM really stood out to me as I was searching for a medical school that was going to be the right fit. Wake has a top tier academic and clinical curriculum with a plethora of research and extracurricular activities, and even given this, the students who attend Wake are kind, inclusive, and collaborative people who do not feed into a competitive environment. Everyone, students and faculty alike, genuinely wants each other to succeed. This aspect of Wake stood out to me during my interview day, and even more so during Second Look weekend.

What is your favorite thing about medical school?  My favorite thing about medical school is my classmates! Everyone has such incredible interests, both medical and non-medical in nature. I loved getting to see my classmates' research interests during Medical Student Research Day, and my classmates are constantly getting people together to attend Wake sporting events, go to Charlotte for the weekend, or try new restaurants in Winston-Salem. We have frequent social gatherings, including our recent "Sketchyween" celebration for Halloween (Sketchy is a very popular med student third party resource)! I love being able to say hello and catch up with classmates at school and interact with people who have taken a genuine interest in the lives of others.

Share something unique about yourself!  A few fun facts are that I majored in American Culture Studies in undergrad (yay, humanities!) and that I have performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City!

Previous educational background? Did you play sports, cool clubs, etc. BA, Davidson College and MPH, Harvard University – Served as Student Body President in college and now in the same role here at WFUSM!

Why did you choose to come to Wake Forest University School of Medicine? I chose Wake Forest University School of Medicine because I loved living in North Carolina during college and had heard great things about the school from friends who attended. I wanted a program within driving distance of home that offered a supportive, tight-knit community and strong clinical training to prepare me for residency—and Wake checked all those boxes!

What is your favorite thing about medical school? Besides the people (because I know that's cliche), my favorite part of med school has been representing Wake Forest and North Carolina at the American Medical Association delegate meetings and passing resolutions to improve access to quality, affordable care for my future patients!

Share something unique about yourself! I'm heading to Argentina this spring for a global health rotation through Wake!

Previous educational background? Did you play sports, cool clubs, etc.  Attended both UNC Chapel Hill and Lenoir Rhyne University. Majored in biology, minored in Spanish. I was a competitive swimmer from age ten all the way through senior year of high school.

Why did you choose to come to Wake Forest University School of Medicine? I chose to attend Wake Forest University School of Medicine for three reasons. First, everyone was so kind! I could tell the students, faculty, and staff really cared about me and would support me along my journey in medical school. Second, I knew Wake would offer the high caliber education I wanted in a medical school. Third, it was close in proximity to family and friends!

What is your favorite thing about medical school? My favorite part of medical school (other than the privilege of taking care of patients, of course!) has been all the incredible people I have met! The faculty and staff at Wake are second to none, and the friends I have made have been some of the best of my life!

Share something unique about yourself! Before medical school, I coached high school swim team for five years! Several of my swimmers won state medals/championships and a handful went on to swim in college. I am passionate about volunteering, especially at Ronald McDonald House and Crossnore School. Where are you from? Columbia, SC

Previous educational background? Did you play sports, cool clubs, etc.  Yale University for undergraduate.

Why did you choose to come to Wake Forest University School of Medicine? WFUSM made me feel like I was a priority during my application process and gave me the sense that I had value as an individual, not just as an admitted student. That's what made me commit to attending, and I have enjoyed every moment since!

What is your favorite thing about medical school? My favorite thing about the medical school is the dedication that our faculty and staff show towards supporting us in becoming the best doctors we can be.

Share something unique about yourself! I have a 7 pound 1 year old Havapoo named Momo who I unashamedly spoil. My wife works for the Carolina Panthers and is much cooler than me so any chance I can shout her out I will!

Where are you from? Elmhurst, IL

Previous educational background? Did you play sports, cool clubs, etc.  I attended Wake Forest University for my undergraduate degree where I majored in Biology and minored in Art History and Chemistry. The beginning of college was initially a challenge as I was the first person in my town and family to go to WFU, I had never been to the east coast, and I did not know anyone in the state! I loved my time at WFU and also spent 6 months living in Madrid, Spain with a host family who I now regularly visit.

What is your favorite thing about medical school? The people! I wrote my personal statement on the impact different people have had on my life and I continue to appreciate the people medical school has brought me to know. Our school creates such a strong community with not just within our class year, but also within the alumni network. Medical school has brought me not just incredible friends, but also patient relationships and memories that I will remember for a lifetime.

Share something unique about yourself! I enjoy working with my hands and recently re-finished and painted my media console and I also have a garden that I grow from seed during the summer. I am an avid runner, however, I never run for speed as it is a hobby I use to clear my mind. I enjoy baking as I am gluten free and will continue to attempt to make treats that are almost as good as the gluten filled ones!
