We are very excited to share that we have a new leader joining us! Michelle Reed, MBA, will be the new Associate Vice President for Undergraduate Medical Education. She has most recently served as the Chief Operating Officer of the Guilford County School System and has extensive cross-functional leadership experience in organizational development and is well versed in strategic visioning, relationship building, and operational and project management work. Michelle has a Master of Business Administration from Ashford University in Project Management and is passionate about LEAN operational methodology. Prior to working for the Guilford County School System, she has served as the Chief Operating Officer of the City of Seattle’s Department of Finance and Administrative Services and has served as the Executive Director of Capital & Space Management at the University of Washington.
As our new AVP for the UME program, Michelle will be responsible for leading administrative and operational functions across our two campuses. She will jointly report to me as the Vice Dean for UME and to Chris O’Byrne as the Vice President of SOM Administration. She will serve as the senior administrative leader to advance our accreditation initiatives, the expansion of the Charlotte campus, and be responsible for the implementation of day-to-day operational work. I am thrilled to have Michelle’s wealth of leadership, project and operational experience as part of our team.
