Introducing the first in a new video series, Faculty in Focus. Chris Miles, MD, associate professor of family medicine, shares the connection between his love of sports medicine and research. In fact, Miles and his colleagues are part of the nation’s largest concussion study to gain insight on how to improve diagnosis, treatment and recovery of athletes—and it’s this kind of groundbreaking work that brought Miles from practicing clinical care in his hometown to Wake Forest School of Medicine.

Faculty in Focus offers a glimpse into the people behind the medicine. What motivates our faculty? How do they live a balanced life? What drives their passion to pursue new discoveries? The answers are as individual as the person. This story about Chris Miles is a prototype of this new series. Stay tuned for more to come.
