About Me
I am a 28 year veteran administrator and educator –holding the current titles of Associate Dean for Continuing Medical Education, Richard Janeway MD Distinguished Director of Northwest Area Health Education Center, Associate Professor Family & Community Medicine, and Adjunct Professor in the Maya Angelou Center for Health Equity.
I am recognized in the piedmont triad region and across the state of North Carolina as a community leader, a change agent, straight forward communicator and partner/collaborator. I do just about everything with passion – even serving on many non-profit organization boards that align with my passion. Specifically, I currently hold or have held major volunteer leadership roles with the following – Consortium for Southeastern Hypertension Control, North Carolina Institute of Medicine Task Force for Alzheimer’s & Deminitia Disease, YMCA of Northwest North Carolina, Winston-Salem Symphony, SciWorks– the Science Center of Winston Salem/Forsyth County, Marshall B. Bass Children’s Fund, NC Association of Free Clinics, CareNet Winston Salem, CareNet, Inc, Piedmont Triad Partnership, Senior Services of Forsyth Futures, Winston-Salem State University’s School of Health Sciences, Lenior Rhyne’s Physician Assistant Program, Appalachian State University’s School of Health Sciences, University of North Carolina – Greensboro’s School of Nursing, Cornerstone Healthcare Foundation, Leadership Winston-Salem, Forsyth County Smart Start, Winston-Salem Foundation’s Everyone Can Help Out (ECHO) Council, Arts Council of Forsyth County, Greater Winston-Salem Chamber of Commerce, Coalition of Young Leaders, and the United Way of Forsyth County.
The Northwest AHEC and the Office of Continuing Medical Education staff and I partner with 300+ different organizations and Wake Forest Baptist Health departments each year.
