The Vascular Neurology Fellowship at Wake Forest School of Medicine is a one-year training program. Two fellows are selected each year.
Each applicant is required to complete or have completed a three-year neurology, child neurology or neurodevelopment disabilities residency program accredited in the U.S. or Canada. Applicants must qualify for licensure by the North Carolina Board of Medical Examiners and must be board-eligible.
Application Process
Qualified applicants are required to apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) and the National Residency Match Program (NRMP) with the required documents below.
Competitive candidates who are selected to interview will be notified by email of available dates to schedule an interview.
Required Documents
As part of the application process, prospective fellows will need to submit the following documentation:
- USMLE Step I, II, and III scores
- Curriculum vitae
- Exchange Commission of Foreign Medical Graduates certification (if applicable)
- Personal statement
- Three letters of recommendation to be addressed to the program director
- Current photograph (Preferred but not required)
- Eligibility for NC medical license
Foreign Medical Graduates
We accept foreign medical graduates into our program. We look for well qualified candidates and prefer applicants that have had U.S. clinical experience within the application year. International medical graduates must have completed an ACGME-accredited residency in Internal Medicine or Emergency Medicine to be considered for an interview. If you need work authorization, our institution accepts J-1 Visas, Employment Authorization Documentation (EAD) and green cards.
