The Section of Infectious Diseases at Wake Forest School of Medicine is focused on research, clinical care and education in the field of infectious diseases. Locally, nationally and internationally recognized faculty members support these goals through our fellowship program and research.
With a variety of interests and research backgrounds, our faculty have been recognized nationally and locally as outstanding educators by medical students and house officers.
The Section of Infectious Diseases has a cadre of clinician-scientists with broad areas of interest. It is built around clinical breadth while focusing on collaborative, translational research with partners in many areas of the Medical Center.
Education and Training
Three fellowship positions are available each year. Over the course of the program, fellows gain clinical experience and participate in scholarly activities and research. Our graduates are highly skilled infectious disease clinicians who also possess the necessary skills and knowledge to be successful educators and clinical investigators.
